FAQ

  • My current rate is $225 for all 50-minute individual sessions (therapy, coaching and healing) and $275 for 50-minute couples/relationship therapy or coaching. Initial couples therapy sessions are 75 minutes long and are prorated.

Please note that solo sessions in the context of couples therapy are charged at the same rate as couples therapy. This is because the “treatment unit” is still the couple. Essentially, solo sessions are catered toward helping our couples therapy work be more effective.

Please know that my fee isn’t solely for our session time together, but also for the time and money I spend thinking about our work, taking professional development trainings and receiving paid consultation from highly experienced licensed therapists. As your therapist, I invest a lot in my professional growth so that I can offer the most useful services I can.

  • I see clients Mondays-Thursdays afternoons and evenings. Evenings are generally the most in-demand meeting times. If you can only meet at or after 5pm or have very particular windows of availability, please know that there’s a high likelihood I’ll need to add you to my wait list if it feels like a good fit.

  • I see folks on a weekly or biweekly basis. We choose an appointment time and meet at that time either every week or every other week until our work together is complete. For the most part, I like to meet with couples on a weekly basis for the first few months, at minimum, as it helps the therapeutic work move forward more effectively.how often do we meet for sessions?

  • I have a 48 business-hour cancellation policy. If you have a Monday session, please cancel by the previous Thursday. If I’m able to reschedule within the same week (Mon-Thur), the cancellation fee will be waived. Please keep in mind that the cancellation policy is enforced without exception. In order to keep it fair to everyone, I charge for late cancellations across the board and it isn’t at all personal.

  • I don’t accept insurance directly, but I’m happy to provide you with a “superbill” at the end of each month for your therapy sessions. The superbill is something you submit to your insurance company to receive full or partial reimbursement. You’ll need to check with your insurance to make sure they reimburse for out-of-network providers, require a diagnosis and whether or not they cover couples/marriage counseling (CPT code: 90847). Please note that insurance generally covers psychotherapy only (not coaching or healing sessions). Please let me know in advance if you’d like monthly superbills.

  • I offer a portion of my services at lower rates, based on financial need. These spots are currently full.

  • I use a HIPPA-compliant, secure payment program called IvyPay that keeps credit cards on file without me ever seeing your credit card information. Once we agree to working together, I’ll have IvyPay send a text link to your cell phone number for you to put in your credit card info yourself.

  • At the moment, all of my sessions are being held online via a HIPPA compliant, secure, Zoom videoconferencing platform. I have no plans on returning to an office in the foreseeable future. While studies (and my professional experience) have shown online therapy to having similar outcomes to in-person therapy, I understand if you’d prefer to find a therapist to see in-office.

  • In general, no. I work with couples experientially— helping partners have productive, connecting interactions with each other in real time. If you’re not in the same room, it’s a lot harder to achieve this goal. Occasionally, and once I know a couple better, I may make some exceptions and allow for about 10% of sessions to happen from different locations.
